Recognition of professional qualifications of pharmacists and assistant pharmacists (pharmacy technicians)

1. Certificate of compliance with the requirements of Directive 2005/36 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as well as a certificate of good practice attesting the professional qualifications of a pharmacist (Certificate in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC and Certificate of good standing).

The Certificate in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC and the  Certificate of good standing can be issued by the State Medicines Control Agency under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter - the Office)

The Applicant may send the required documents by mail or deliver them to the Office at Studentų str. 45A, Vilnius.

The certificates shall be sent to the applicant by mail or may be taken by the applicant himself on arrival at the Office. If the host country requires the certificate to be sent directly to them, a copy of the certificate shall be sent to the applicant (or may be taken back to the Office).

2. Procedure of the recognition of professional qualifications of third country nationals of in order to practice regulated professions of a  pharmacists and assistant pharmacists (pharmacy technicians). 

The professional qualifications of a pharmacist or an assistant pharmacist / pharmacist acquired abroad is assessed and recognized by the Office.

The Applicant or his authorized person in person or by post, at Studentų str. 45A, Vilnius, shall submit to the Office an application in the prescribed form and the specified documents or a notarised copy (or a copy thereof certified by the law).

The certificates shall be sent to the applicant by mail or may be taken by the applicant himself on arrival at the Office. If the host country requires the certificate to be sent directly to them, a copy of the certificate shall be sent to the applicant (or may be taken back to the Office).

3. Recognition of professional qualifications of nationals of European Union member states, European economic area states and the Swiss confederation acquired in another member state in order to practice regulated professions of a pharmacists.

The professional qualifications of a pharmacists who are nationals of the Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation and have obtained their qualifications in another Member State in order to pursue the profession of pharmacist in the Republic of Lithuania is assessed and recognized by the Office.

The Applicant or his authorized person in person or by post, at Studentų str. 45A, Vilnius, shall submit to the Office the application in the prescribed form and the specified documents or a notarized copy thereof (if the originals are filed, the Office shall certify their copies and return the originals to the applicant).

4. Recognition of professional qualifications of nationals of European Union member states, European economic area states and the Swiss confederation acquired in another member state in order to temporarily or occasionally provide services of a pharmacists.

The Office recognizes the professional qualifications of a pharmacist who is a national of a Member State of the European Union, the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation and acquired in another Member State in order to provide temporary and occasional services in the Republic of Lithuania.

The Applicant or his authorized person, when starting to provide the services of a pharmacist in the Republic of Lithuania or if there is a significant change of the previously documented circumstances, must personally or by mail, address Studentų str. 45A, Vilnius, to file with the Office a written declaration in the prescribed form concerning the temporary and occasional provision of pharmacist services in the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter referred to as the Declaration) when he first moves from a Member State to the Republic of Lithuania to provide pharmacist services. The applicant or his authorized representative shall provide the documents or notarised copies thereof with the declaration (in the case of originals, the Office shall endorse the copies and return the originals to the applicant).
